CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT at the Historic USO Building

Moving into August, on Wednesday, 8/13, we conclude our Super Summer Cinema film series with a real cinematic bang!  We are very excited to bring to you the monumental movie box office hit based on the long-running, award-winning Broadway musical. Before you take that exciting journey down the yellow brick road, get up close and personal with the two sparring witches who would eventually accompany Dorothy on her historic journey to the Emerald City. Set in the Land of Oz prior to Dorothy Gale‘s arrival from Kansas, the plot explores the early relationship between Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, (breath-takingly played by Cynthia Erivo) and her dormitory roommate Galinda, who becomes Glinda the Good (the equally incredible Ariana Grande).  An amazing supporting cast includes: Elphaba Thropp, Jonathan Bailey, (a true stand-out as Fiyero Tigelaar), Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. Everything about this lavish 2024 film is extraordinary…from the John Powell/ Stephen Schwartz memorable musical score and Christopher Scott’s unbelievable choreography, to the incredible set designs, costumes and amazing special effects.  Make sure to see Director Jon M. Chu’s musical masterpiece before the spectacular final chapter arrives in the fall!  As a special added treat for this presentation, our dear friends and Classic Movie Night sponsors, Kim Metcalf and Karen Saaty will be on-hand to serve up delightful and delicious treats appropriate to this gala film event!

Snack Bar opens at 6:15 pm with Classic Cartoons screening until 7:15 Movie time.   Admission is donation, only.
